CEILING DEMONS - Silver Birch
This is a music video produced for the band Ceiling Demons. The concept was to create something influenced by The Wicker Man, highlighting the subject of the song and the folklore element of the track. The haunting nature of Zarahruth’s vocals in the chorus really complimented this idea too. We hashed out an idea that followed “the snake”, which would be sacrificed and rise up as the phoenix through the flames. I was influenced quite a bit by montage and early Soviet cinema (which sounds pretentious as hell but it’s true – I did it in college and uni and loved that shit!) so represented the different feelings and metaphors through overlaying techniques and creating montages with stark imagery.
